§ 2.96.030. Retention by county allowed when.

If the sheriff of the county determines that such unclaimed property is needed for a public use, the property may be retained by the county and need not be sold. Such property may not be redeemable by the owner or other person entitled to possession after the time periods described in Section 2.96.010 have expired.
